I have had the honor to work in various leadership roles since 2006, with approximately 13 years of that time working with folks with special abilities. This remains incredibly fulfilling work, and the team of associates and staff at Lakeside have so much to offer. I tell people this often, but I speed to work each day in my role as CEO of this great company.

Jennifer Ven Rooy, Chief Operating Officer

Jennifer joined the LPP team in April 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Services Leadership from UW Oshkosh and has been working in the nonprofit sector since 2010. Her experience includes working individuals with disabilities, employment and training, affordable housing, and children and youth services. With a strong background in fund raising and programming, Jennifer enjoys making connections that will lead to long lasting change and support the mission and vision of Lakeside.

Heidi Vargas, Services Director - Oshkosh

Heidi joined Lakeside Packaging Plus in July 1996 after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Green Bay in December 1995. She has provided 27 years of employment in various roles within the Agency. Heidi is the Services Director for the Oshkosh location and has spent most of her work career in this Leader position. She is responsible for Pre-Vocational and Day Services with an emphasis in Community Engagement.

Thomas Mentele, Services Director - Neenah

Tom has worked at LPP since 1984, working as a direct service mentor, production floor supervisor, and case manager in Oshkosh before transferring to Neenah as the Services Director. Over the years, Tom has helped the agency develop policy and best practice in many areas of operation including intake, billing, safety, documentation, training, scheduling and administration. Tom is dedicated to and directly involved in developing the mission of the agency to improve the lives of our associates with disabilities to be independent contributors to the community.

Troy Kasper, Director of Pre-Vocational Services - Oshkosh

Troy joined the team in September 2014 as Director of Production. Troy wears many hats including production, quoting, and maintenance. Troy has been working in operations for over 15 years in Oshkosh. “At LPP, I love that I get to impact our associates in a positive way and working with our great team.” He grew up in Oshkosh and lives in Omro with his wife, Meghann and son, Henry. Troy enjoys working on his farm, playing basketball, racing BMX bikes, and spending time with his family.

Mark Salzer, Director of Pre-Vocational Services - Neenah

Mark joined Lakeside Packaging Plus in 2019 as the Coordinator of Business Development.  For the past 2 years, he has worked at the Neenah Plant leading the production team. Mark has over 25 years of experience working for various companies in both manufacturing and sales roles. His non-profit work experiences started in 2017 while in Beaver Dam, WI.  His current role focuses on helping support our Mission and providing operational leadership for our associates, staff and customers.   Mark resides in Oshkosh and enjoys spending time with his wife Jetta and 3 children.  His favorite hobby is music and playing the drums.

Jenny Roth, Employment Services Director - Both Locations

After graduating from UWO with a degree in Human Services, I took a position at LPP and have now been here for over 20 years! I love the joy and passion that our associates bring to life. It’s very rewarding to see them learn and experience new things and achieve their goals.

Kyra Churchill, Community Services Director - Both Locations

Kyra joined LPP in August of 2011 as an Adult Services Supervisor in Neenah. After a few years, she was able to cross train in Oshkosh. In 2014, she was part of the small team that started the first community based service, CBPS (Community-Based Prevocational Services) where associates went in the community to work on soft skills and have volunteer rotations to work on those skills learned in a classroom environment. In 2016, Kyra was part of the trio that started the Employment Services Department as the Job Support Manager. She helped support those working in the community onsite as well as maintain great employer and community relationships. As the department grew, she oversaw job coaches. In her new role as Community Services Director, Kyra oversees our community-based programming including Community Day Services under the Building Full Lives model, Group Supported Employment, and Youth Programs. She also gets to utilize her creative skills by being part of our small marketing team which includes digital marketing.
